From the Tasting Room - September 2015 Edition

Summer is fading into history as another autumn begins in Happy Valley. In the tasting room, we have added two new cocktails we feel bridge the two seasons. One is called Sc’orned, a drink with a margarita-style base with wheat and rye whiskeys as a substitute for tequila, fresh lime juice, rose syrup, orange syrup, some fresh cracked pepper, and a dose of house-made falernum. Falernum is made from high-proof rum, citrus and autumnal spices, and it adds a beautiful layer and weight to the cocktailmaking it perfect for fall.

Our other new cocktail takes a traditionally summer spirit, our 7 Governors Gin, and blends it with a traditional fall vegetable, the beet. We muddle in some fresh thyme and citrus and the final product is what we’ve designated as Thyme for a Beetin’. After making their debut last week, the drinks were a huge hit and we expect to be making plenty more of them as we get further into the cooler weather.

We have also recently introduced our Cocktails on Tap, priced economically at $5.  We produce these cocktails in the tasting room and then hook them up to our kegorator for easy pouring. The Cocktails on Tap will change regularly, so be sure to stop in often and literally see what’s on tap.

Finally, we will introducing two new products this fall, but I’m going to keep that a mystery until we are ready for the formal roll out.  I will tell you that one of them will be only our second aged product to be released. Sign up for our monthly e-newsletter so you don’t miss the release!
